In the Spirit of the Kinfolk Concept
A Home That Grows with Its Inhabitants
Starting from scratch isn’t always necessary. The spaces we live in are a reflection of our lifestyle, habits, and daily rituals. What is familiar and well-loved holds value—so this project wasn’t about creating an entirely new interior but rather about finding harmony between the old and the new.
The house we worked on already had its own history—favourite furniture pieces and cherished details. Our role was not to erase but to complement. In designing this space, we embraced a philosophy akin to the Kinfolk movement—an approach to interiors that fosters authentic experiences, mindful living, and the nurturing of relationships. This is a home meant for being, not just for residing.
The interiors do not dominate but instead blend seamlessly with the daily rhythm of its inhabitants. Our clients’ style—a fusion of Scandinavian design and modern classic elements—naturally aligned with the existing structure of the building. The open, double-height living room and skylights invite light and nature into the space, making the interior a backdrop for life rather than the other way around.
There is no home without a kitchen, and while every detail of this one has been carefully considered, it does not impose itself. Light microcement, stone countertops, and veneer give it an airy quality, while the rounded island encourages effortless and intuitive movement. Behind wooden doors lies a pantry, allowing for order and discreet storage of everything that doesn’t need to be on display. The kitchen opens onto a winter garden and a dining area with a round table—spaces that evolve with their inhabitants. It is a setting for both quick morning breakfasts and long evening conversations. A kitchen that does not dominate but naturally integrates into the rhythm of daily life.
